Hey,

So im sorted for films & tv, but im a bit stuck with books Rolling Eyes So does anyone here know of any fiction/fantasy,ect... books with gay characters? I mean main characters, not someone in the background lol

Thanks for your help! Razz

It's not very common, you may just wanna go to the gay/lesbian section and see what's therte. Sarah Walters (i think her name is) writes gay/lesbian fiction.

Unfortunately, I haven't got any books with anything more than a passing reference or perhaps an obscure background character who's gay/lesbian. I remember a year ago I did some half-assed searching for a good book with a strong gay/lesbian theme, but I was hesitant to read any of the books I found. I didn't particularly want to read a book where it was ALL ABOUT homosexuality, I just wanted a good book where it was a strong element but wasn't the focus of the book.

The only book I can suggest is The Protector's War or A Meeting At Corvallis. They're both from a decent series, and there are two lesbian characters. They're really quite cute, but they're very much in the background.

That's the only lead I can give you I'm afraid. Let me know if you find anything though, I really want to fill that gap.

..I mean, I've read slushy romance novels with a fantasy setting back when I was desperate for something to read..

Naw, who am I kidding, I would have read them even if I wasn't desperate for new material. They were cheesey but kind of good.

And I'm rambling. I'm going to be quiet now. :3

There's Sugar Rush by Julie Burchill, not brilliant but worth a read.
Then there's also Annie on My Mind (Nancy Garden), it was either the first or one of the first books for teenagers about Lesbians. It's one of the most banned books of recent times, and is very respected as a milestone book for homosexuality in YA fistion.

Agreed. I might make a few suggestions to people still wondering what to get me for christmas. Thanks. ^^

Edit: Added this to my wishlist on Amazon and got a few other books that look promising. When I've read them, I'll give some feedback.
