| Announcement: Choosing your Disipline |
| Posted: -Savara- @ Sun Feb 26, 2006 10:54 pm |
Hello and welcome!
The website has been running for quite a while now and some positions have been given out to a few. Members will know that there is a ranking system based on the number of posts written, however the Head of Disciplines have come up with another scheme to run along side this.
Each and everyone one of you has come to the stage in their training when it’s time to select a discipline. By selecting a discipline you will be entering more in-depth study upon your chosen topic and moving through the ranking system your chosen discipline has.
The three disciplines offered are: Alchemy, The Art of Healing and Warrior Skills. The choice is a hard one and once made you will have to stick with your choice for life. This is a very important step so think long and hard. If you have any questions on what to do or need help with your decision my advice would be to talk to the relevant Head of Discipline. Make sure you are well aware of all the facts on all courses before your decision.
Go for the discipline that suits you best and where your abilities will be used to the maximum and greater good.
All novices must follow five rules that are the foundations of the Guild. All disciplines follow these.
The breaking of these rules will result in exile from the Guild.
These rules are listed on all the discipline topic pages.
In each discipline there are four ranks through which you progress. All members will begin as novices in their discipline (ie. Healing novice); they will then become graduates, then researchers (following the same concept as Akkarin and researching a topic of interest) and finally they will have finished all training and gain their official title (ie. Healer).
There will also be two specialist roles within the disciplines for those who have shown exceptional knowledge and commitment to their discipline. These will be discussed at a further date.
How to progress through these ranks will be posted once people have chosen their disciplines and taken the next step: making their oath. Each discipline has an oath; novices must take their disciplines oath before anything else. Oaths are individual to the disciplines and are entirely based upon what the Head of Discipline chooses.
So what do you do now??? Well explore the discipline forums and chose the right discipline for you. Remember we are here too to help you with your decisions. Once you have chosen your discipline head down to that disciplines page, go to the oaths topic and follow the instructions there. However make sure YOU understand all guild rules and can keep them, and are fully aware of what taking your oath means.
Good luck from Lady Savara-Lady Zurina- Lord Regin
