Yes, and her own son travels abroad as an Ambassador :D However, Kyralia is in the center of the Allied Lands, the only non-allied boarder is Sachaka,so I doubt it affects life in kyralia much what happens outside the Lands. :) Only if there was a war, since the magicians would have to fight in it, which throws up the question how skilled magicians in other countries are.

A very interesting question indeed, and how they would be trained. Would they use black magic?
Alira- 03-27-2007
or even other forms of magic? There must be many unused possibilities of how to use magic...
Lorlyn- 03-27-2007
I'm sure there is. we know the unallied lands are likely to use black magic.
LittleRaven- 03-27-2007
No, I don't think what happened in Kyralia would be that rare. It's possible they've formed their own taboos about it, even if they are different.
Black magic is used in Sachaka, but the ones who were a bigger threat were the outlawed black magicians.
Lorlyn- 03-27-2007
so then maybe they limit what they are allowed to do with black magic. maybe it's what they would do with it like kill for example that makes it matter.
Alira- 03-27-2007
However, killing with magic is pretty easy, they don't need BM for that :)
Lorlyn- 03-27-2007
well true, but some would go out of their way to do that to gain more power. like the ones that were banned. and I imagine they did other things that caused them to be sent away.
Alira- 03-27-2007
their incapability to pay taxes
Lorlyn- 03-27-2007
haha likely. oh oh! I got to share a pic...will post in the welcome area or something. places of a origin I think is will I'll put it.
edit: er...okay maybe not. it's in adobe reader and won't let me save the pics. Anyways their pictures of a road in southafrica that is only a car wide and off the edge is about oh a thousand feet below. The road is on a rockcliffe.! now that would be scary to drive on.
j_mercuryuk- 03-27-2007
They are probably places where being a magician is taboo.
Alira- 03-28-2007
Interesting thought, maybe like in the middle-age, when you got killed for 'using magic' :-? There could be hidden magical communities...
j_mercuryuk- 03-28-2007
I see no reason why not. If ideas about magic can swing one way then way not the other somewhere else.
Alira- 03-28-2007
It would be interesting to see what a society in which magic is unknown did if a magician visited the country and used his powers XD or see what people would do if there was a witch-hunt on people who can do magic.
Lorlyn- 03-28-2007
as in real? because on the east coast here they hung women in the 1800's when they thought they were doing witchcraft. though I suppose it might be different if they were visiting and not the nextdoor neighbors.
