Wow! That looked so cool!

Good, but I think you may be a little nervous. Relax and try again, using less of your energy. After all, it's really important for a Warrior to know how to conserve his/her strength. You never know how long a battle might last in real life.

*Paige breaths in and relaxes her shoulders. focusing her mind she gathers her energy together* 'alright a forcestrike. but with less energy' thought Paige. *Paige opens her eyes and focuses her energy towards the shield and sends a stream of energy at the center of the shield. She opens her eyes and watches as the shield flares against the forcestrike and the forcestrike dies out* "wow I did it" *Paige turned and looked at SE* "How did I do this time?"

SE smiled. "Much better." "Now I'm going to ask one more thing of you, then we can pair you up for battles. This requires some trust on your part. The purpose of it is not to see how strong you can make your shields, but how adaptable you can make them. Therefore I will send a very weak strike to your shield. This weak strike will come from any angle. Anyone volunteers to go first?"

Alira stepped into the center of the arena and created ashield around herself. SE started attacking her from all sides. Alira needed to concentrate hard to adapt her shield to every single strike, but after a short time, it became easier.

Paige watched as Alira made her shields stronger on different sides of it when SE sent out weak forcestrikes towards her. SE stopped sending forcestrikes at Alira and smiled. "good job. who's up?" asked SE. Paige raised her hand. "I'll go my lady" Paige stepped into the center of the arena and put up her shield. SE started sending forcestrikes at Paige. Paige watched as one came up from above, the sides of her and made her shield stronger each time. SE sent one last forcestrike up from underneath the ground but the forcestrike still hit a shield.

"Well done!" SE smiled, pleased at both of her new novice's progress. "Let's have a 10 minute break before we start the battles. I'm hoping more people will turn up then."

Lorlyn walks into the arena just as Paige was finishing blocking SE's strikes. SE tells the novices to take a break. Lorlyn walks up to SE. So how are your lessons? Paige and Alira seem to do well. Though Paige has chosen healing as her displine. I think you will still she her around in the arena since she seems to enjoy the warrior skills also.

"Hello Lorlyn, they're going fine, thanks. Though a little quiet :) Nothing like the large amount of students Regin used to have here in the Arena- though I'm keeping my hopes up. She has? Well, no hard feelings. She would have made a good Warrior, but I've also heard of her interest in the Healing discipline.."

Paige sits down on a bench with Alira. now that was fun. I want to do another one.

"Okay, one more minute then we start the battles. Alira, you and Paige can be partners."

Alira and Paige get up and go slowly to opposite ends of the arena.

"No physical contact. You must stop when I call 'halt!' which I shall do so when you're inner barrier has been hit with a blow counted as fatal. I'll be inner-shielding you, Paige, and Lady Lorlyn will be doing so for you, Alira. You may begin!"
