The Arena 3
SE walked in and stood back as her small group of novices entered, looking around the circular structure with interest. "Alright, did we forget anyone?"

I'm here my Lady *Bows to SE* Ready and waiting

*WinterSnake also bows to SE* "Aye, Ah'm 'ere too, my lady."

"Where's Akala? Oh well, let's begin, he'll join us when he arrives." SE moved into the middle of the arena. "Now, stand next to me, facing the wall. I want you both to throw a combination of strikes of different shapes and strengths to it. Don't worry about shielding at the moment, I'll shield you both just in case some strikes go astray. Ready? You may begin."

Akala entered the arena, and stood in awe at the strikes resounding around the enclosed space. He was going to enjoy this.

* Diagon steps up and concentrates on shaping her strike*

*Hurries in, triping and stumbling, her robes a crinkled mess* SE? Am I meant to be here? *looks around at everyone* um...

SE watched the progess of each novice carefully, and waved to Akala to join them. "I don't know Gecko.. I have a class who've never done any warrior skills before. Since you have a little experience with it already, maybe you should be in another class right now?"

*WinterSnake looks at SE nervously with confusion on her face and she shrugs, now concentrating to make a strike*

Akala followed suit. He looked within himself once again, finding the source of his power, and drawing a little into his control. Breathing deeply, he formed a strike, and released it.

"Alright, halt!" SE called and each novice stopped striking. "Now, onto shielding. Draw some power and create a thin, transparent one and draw it as close to your body as you can. Now, it may be thin, transparent and flexible but it is not weak. Think of it as a stronger extension of your own natural barrier; the skin." SE walked around as everyone attempted to create and shape their shields. "Make sure a steady trickle of power flows into it, especially the front. You can leave the top, back and bottom relatively weak... for now."

*WinterSnake nods and she starts to concentrate on making a shield but she produces a slight blue thin transparent shield* "Erm... my lady?"

* Diagon closes her eyes to concentrate better as WinterSnakes blue shield is putting her off* *After slowly opening her eyes finds that she is encompassed in what looks like a wobbly balloon* Ummm.... I don't think mines quite right?

Akala smiled, he was used to shielding, and had no problems creating and maintaining a strong shield in front of his body. But, he quickly noted, it was too bulky, to wall-like. He concentrated hard, making the shield thinner, more, as his teacher requested, skin like. Akala opened his eyes, noting with satisfaction that his shield was no more like he wanted.

SE smiled in approval at Akala and turned her attention to the two novices finding it a bit more tricky. "You have the right idea, Diagon. But your uncertainty is affecting your concentration. Be confident, and slowly hold your shield still, make it thinner, but keep it at that same strength." "Wintersnake, you have the shape and thinness, but concentrate on using the power you're wasting to make it blue and adding it to it's strength instead. Remember, the best shield is flexible, invisible, and strong."
