Alira stops. Did she really overreact? Did she assume, just because she was hit by Gecko and her robes were set on fire, that Gecko had wanted to burn her? "So, you didn't mean to... DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD EVER BELIEVE YOU AGAIN!!!???"

*tears leak out of her eyes and she quickly brushes them away* It's true! *stumbles backwards* just.. don't blast me again!

Alira sees the tears and decides that gecko has become an even better liar, but she also decides to be fair. "Would you give me proof that it was just an accident?"

*hesitates, then steps forward, nervously* truth read me.. *gulps - doesn't like the idea of Alira seeing her thoughts..*

Alira puts her fingers on Gecko's temples. She just learned a few days ago how to truth read unwilling minds. She concentrates on the scene that has just happened, and sees herself from Gecko's point of view.

*thinking - damdamdamdam she's in my head..**tenses up, all nerves alert*

From her point of view: she is just in a generally grumpy mood and wants to vent some anger. sends firestrikes at the arena barrier to make her feel better. None of them will go on target. sees alira watching, and angry that she can't get it right. wants to get a perfect shot - that'll show her what she can do! one of them flies wide and she sees a flame on alira's robe. Freezes, worried at what alira will do. Not worried about alira getting hurt - she is more than capable of putting out the fire.**more thoughts are flooding over and she can't stop them - resentment towards the world in general.. - and yanks away from alira, breaking the contact*

Alira sighs. She had overreacted after all. "I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but... I'm sorry Gecko. I thought you wanted to burn me just out of anger or just for fun or... you know, I will never trust you. But this time I see I've made a mistake. I'm really sorry." She sighs again.

*well this is really awkward.. Alira apoligising to her.. would almost prefer her just to yell..* er.. *shuffles a bit and backs away* umm... well, I wouldn't burn you on purpose..*quiet* even if I;d like to... *small, nervous grin*

Alira smiles, too. She has seen the truth in Gecko's mind. "No, you wouldn't, I know. You fear the punishment too much."

*shifty* No I don't.. I just don't burn people.. well... *wouldn't burn someone if they couldn;t handle it.. but alira could easily put it out so...*
