Terry Goodkind- Sword of Truth Has any one else read any of the Sword of Truth Saga. I love them and have read them a fair few times and apart from Harry Potter it was these books that really got me int to fantasy (as well as the final fantasy games for playstation).

I've read these, and really enjoyed them even though they are a bit more graphic than I normally enjoy in my fantasy. However I got to Faith of the Fallen and just gave up - the books were just too long, each one almost immediately folowing where they left off last time, and I just felt so bad of the main characters who seemed to be in peril the whole time! I just wanted them to have a break!

I've read all of them now and i'm gonna try reading them through back to back.
The Pillars of creation isn't really about Richard or Kahlan, which makes a bit of a change. I do find that he does some times take pages and pages to explain things, which can be a bit boring at times.

I've read the entire series from top to bottom :) I loved the last three books - Chainfire, Phantom and Confessor... although I must admit, I didn't like the ending all THAT much.
But at the same time, I can't say I really like the endings of many books - even though I don't know if I'd be able to write a better one!

I didn't think the ending was that great either. It was all right though as an ending. I really enjoyed the last 3 books to. I think myt east fave is The Pillars of Creation.

Mmmyeah. While I was reading the last book I'd actually completely forgotten about Jennsen and Tom...
I personally just don't see how creating an alternate world without magic solves any problems at all :P Especially not since all the 'Pillars of Creation' went there, when all that's going to happen is Richard's offspring, if he has more than one, will turn out to be the same...

i've just started reading stone of tears again and one thing thsat struck me a bit odd was how Zedd could use his power pretty well even though he was around the garden of life and his power shouldn't be to strong because of the peoples palace spell form.
Mirlya- 02-01-2008
I think there're a few inconsistencies like that in the series... Goodkind seems to have emphasised the lack of being able to use magic within the People's Palace in Confessor, but in previous books he kinda dismissed it, saying they could still use magic, but it was greatly diminished...
It seemed almost as if Nicci couldn't use her magic within the palace at all
flootilicious- 02-08-2008
yeah i got the impression that she couldn't use her magic in the palace, which obviously doesn't tie up with Zedd being to able to s his magic. Oh well i guess when you write a series of books as long as this then you may forgot what you have all ready said.

I have read the whole series and enjoyed them. Some more than others I must admit. They are making the first book into a tv series. It will air in America in Sept/Oct I think. Disney and Sam Raimi are involved, so it should be good.
flootilicious- 05-30-2008
I really want to see the tv series but i'll doubt i will get to as i don't have sky and knowing my look they prob won't show it over here :(
Mirlya- 06-12-2008
I hope it at least comes out on dvd, because I don't think it'll get shown here.
But I do hope they have good actors :P
flootilicious- 06-13-2008
Here are links to the 2 main actors. I've never come across them before but then again they haven't really been in much. The guy to play Richard is kinder hot

Well I'm going to attempt to revive this thread by introducing the new TV series that they're making out of the first book: Wizard's First Rule.
They've called the series "The Legend of the Seeker", and quite honestly, the trailer looks kinda like a LotR rip :P

:D According to imdb.com, they've got someone cast but for no particular character at the moment... does anyone know if imdb is ever wrong about casting people? One of my friends can't seem to think how it's possible that this particular actress would get into such a US series, but I don't think it's that farfetched...
flootilicious- 10-23-2008
I dunno but i think the series is due to start in America in about 9 days or so. I really want to watch it. I don't know why they won't release it in other countries other than USA as his books are read all over the world.
I've watched the trailer and it looks like it should be quite good though Zedd doesn't look quite waht i imagined.
