I don't know why, but, I never liked Cery much. I tried to find a reason for that, but couldn't...

:lol: It sometimes happen; you don't like a character for no real reason. It's happened to me.

Or vice versa you like them but don't now why -- kind of like in life sometimes.

that happened to me, i read a book, and i just hated the main character, for no reason, i had to stop reading the book, can't even remember what it was about though, but i just found the main character an arrogent j******s

I found I really liked Cery the second time I read The Magician's Guild- when I actually read carefully and took in the first part of the book. Before that, I was kinda indifferent to him. Even in The High Lord, you can't love Cery unless you remember the big role he played in protecting Sonea in the first book. (I'm posting like mad here. :blink: )

Cery reminds me of this teaching assistant at school who was my 'mentor' for a lot of last year, due to my mother's meddling. He wasn't awful exactly, but by the end of it I just wanted to strangle him. I sometimes feel the same about Cery. I think that's how he turned into a crazed stalker in my spoof. Yet, when I think of how he helped Sonea, I realize how loyal and caring he is. Then again, I never was too fond of her either.
