Well I've only read one series, but that doesn't have any dragon in it. The use of magic is quite simialr, but it's ALOT rarer. Though I haven't read them for a long time. It's about excerciseing one's will and that's how it works. It does state that you can NEVER 'unmake' something.

no dragons in any i have read either. he is really unique in many ways in his writing but that just makes the books even better!!

thats fine I like the way Trudi made her world - similar to ours but with people in it who can handle magic... I like dragons too, but more in the way they are in the Dragonriders of Pern-series.

which is BRILLIANT by the way!!

Lady Vinara- 12-04-2006

which one *confused*

lirael- 12-04-2006

dragon riders of pern!! well the ones by Anne are anyway!!

Lady Vinara- 12-04-2006

uh yeah i loved those =o) the mind-talk is very similar to what Trudi uses

j_mercuryuk- 12-04-2006

Not really, in that they have to impress a fire lizard or dragon.

Lady Vinara- 12-04-2006

yes and no there are some people - also non-dragonfolk - that can talk to all dragons as for the no-part - they can't listen to other people talking to theier beasts - but drangons can ;o)

j_mercuryuk- 12-04-2006

Yes, but they were far and few. Which is why it isn't quick like trudi's mind comminication.

Lady Vinara- 12-04-2006

again yes and no the queens can communicate to every dragon at once - but it's only the queens and those few humans...

Lorlyn- 12-04-2006

David Eddings....he does should interesting. I just might go check him out.

LittleRaven- 12-04-2006

Maybe I will too.

Lady Vinara- 12-05-2006

I asked that friend of mine and I was right - he HAS got all the books Eddings ever wrote *laughs* So we made a deal - he's going to read BMT and I'm going to read Eddings. I'm looking forward to it but I think I will read Age of the Five first

 I didn't think I'd get so many people to read David Eddings.
