Which really is a shame. He was my favourite character in the Novice, and in tMG he was hilarious. If its like LOTR, then there could be extra scenes and that stuff, but if it cuts out stuff that are major leads to the next trilogy, I wont be happy

well nobody can say for certain what the filmakers will choose to put in or not to put in. we can only guess.

j_mercuryuk- 02-12-2007

True, but it would be far more likely that they would be included in the case of a TV series. But we can never truly tell especially without any idea on the director or studio.

He was my favourite character in the Novice, and in tMG he was hilarious I completely agree, I couldn't wait for Dannyl and Tayend parts in the Novice, they were just awesome. If they ever do make a movie I hope they don't throw that out, it's just too good to be wasted..

I think s/he meant s/he would love that part to be in the movie....

Lorlyn- 04-29-2007

ah! yes I think that would be a good part to have in a movie. Especially since I think it'll be more important in the sequels.

WinterSnake- 04-29-2007

Yep. I guess so. Or maybe the prequel Canavan's on right now.

WinterSnake- 04-29-2007

Yep! But one downside of makin' it into a film is that it can be so bad (y'all probably know what I mean, like cut too much off the book etc) but then, the book to films is gettin' better. With LotR the top, IMO.

WinterSnake- 05-01-2007

Yeah. Many people can't even understand some of the easier books I have as they grew up with slangs and dialects. Can't even pass Foundation level in English. That's like, the lowest level yah can get in English.

j_mercuryuk- 05-01-2007

But then, on the other hand, why is there english any less 'proper' then ours. The only reason that middle class english is seen as proper is because it's the speech code that teachers and people in higher places use. Does that make it right purely for this reason?

Revan- 05-01-2007

I feel so lucky we have nothing like that in Norway... Yes, we use the language slightly different, but there's none who can't understand each others and stuff like that...

Kasloumor- 05-01-2007

Ooh another Scandinavian - well about time!! Anyway - in Denmark we do not have that problem either. Everybody pretty much understands each other despite variations in pronounciations etc. And we don't have that much slang really - most of it is stolen from English.

The only reason that middle class english is seen as proper is because it's the speech code that teachers and people in higher places use. Does that make it right purely for this reason? One thing: Grammar. Never mind dialect. They don't know when to use full stop or use capital letters or know what a semi-colon is/for. Well, it's usually neds that are like that as they think books is for geeks. (It needs to be 'proper' for some things. Consider a sciecne course at further education level (BscHons, PhD etc.) and english needs to be very accurate especially when writing a report. When it get published, scienctist will read it around the world and their first language may not be english.) Erm... I just realised.... are we goin' a bit too off-topic, eh? Whoops a daisy.
