Lady Vinara- 02-08-2007

I just finished watching 'Hogfather' by Terry Pratchett. It's about 5hours long, made into two movies. Perhaps this would be a possibilty too? They didn't miss out much of the book in this film. So, like make a 2-part-film out of every book?

j_mercuryuk- 02-08-2007

It was two feature lenfht episodes rather then two films. That might be a possiblity, but it might only work for the first one, the others are longer and they might not be able to fit everything in, but then they might...I'm not sure.

I think that they would put the Dannly and Taylend bit in the film. All the equal rights stuff about today. if u get me just cas there is gay scenes dont mean they wud block it out??? oh and if they did make a film they wud deffently miss soo much out cas all films do when their bout books :(

oh i definately agree Heid, there is alot of stuff goin round about gay people and your probably right that if they cut it out, peple would say the film makers were being discriminative or something.

Heidi- 02-08-2007

Exactly. Go Ebs lol :D And i think wat proves it is Torchwood, but thats only a tv series so in a way that shows that films could do more in a sense.

j_mercuryuk- 02-08-2007

I think they'll miss the Dannyl and Tayend bits out because they're not important to the book. They can be very easily missed out.

Heidi- 02-08-2007

yeah i see what u mean too. In TN their bit was a tiny bit boaring.

j_mercuryuk- 02-08-2007

I found it more interesting the second time around, party because I wasn't thinking "I wanna know what Sonea is up to!!!"

ebony- 02-09-2007

i see you rpiont about it being slightly irrelivant, but still, filmakers arent going to want to be accused of discrimination against gays.

j_mercuryuk- 02-09-2007

It wouldn't bother them. They'll have to miss things out and the best way to cut it down is to miss out Dannyl's story, that way they can include more of Sonea's.

ebony- 02-09-2007

and you know that for certain???? :-D

j_mercuryuk- 02-09-2007

I've seen many films of books, and I'm getting very good at predicting what will be in the films or not.

ebony- 02-09-2007

is that so

j_mercuryuk- 02-09-2007

yes, but not prefect. It's quite logical really. Dannyl is not important to that plot, so why waste time o it and money.

Lorlyn- 02-09-2007

even if someone did accuse them of discrimination against gays they would use the excuse that it was nothing to do with the character being gay but because they needed something to cut out and the plot wasn't needed in the film.
