TV series would be good, I preferred the tv series of Pride and Prejudice as they were able to go into it in a lot more detail and was very true to the book.

Yes, I prefered it as well. I even went out and bought it on DVD.

Same here! Well I first watched it on the DVD, I never saw it when it was on TV, but I loved the film and figured the tv series would be better - and i was right!
j_mercuryuk- 02-05-2007
I was watched it when it was orginally on TV :D
Sonea- 02-05-2007
I can't even remember when it was on TV. I know it was in the 90s sometime. I think I was only bothered with cbbc then!

The only thing that worries me about a TV series, besides quality, is where it's made. I've heard about the miniseries Mists of Avalon and Robin Hood being excellent and shown in Britain, but they're not shown here. It would probably be even less likely to be shown here if it were made in Australia. On the other hand, I haven't heard as many good things about American TV as I have about Australian and British TV. So it would be better to import something of quality than to easily obtain crap.

ya and british or australian might get the accents closer to what trudi may of wanted.
Sonea- 02-05-2007
Yep, plus I spose you can always get them on dvd! Mind you then you have different regions - I have a multiregional dvd player at home, i don't know what I'd do without it!
lyylovebooks- 02-06-2007
yeah, i'm afraid i wont be able to see it too if it's shown on TV.
j_mercuryuk- 02-06-2007
Well, all of Europe has the same region, so you can just buy it on DVD, my friend has also played other region DVDs on a region 2 DVD player with no problems. I hope it made by the BBC, as british TV is supposed to be the best in the world, plus the BBC has a long history of making definative versions of things. I can't thing of a single book they made into a TV series that has turned out badly. Besides, there's always you tube.
Also many tv shows have brillant effects (buffy, star trek, doctor who, etc.)
Just because it's made into a film, doesn't mean that we'll be able to see. I can think of dozens of films I've wnateed to see in the cinema, but couldn't because there wasn't a nearby cinema showing it.

We never get any tv series that are popular here so I have to buy them all, which sucks, on the other hand I'm going to cinema almost every weekend. But I agree with you jmerc, tv series would be better for the start and later on, there could be a movie too but WITH Dannyl and Tayend in.
j_mercuryuk- 02-06-2007
Unfortunately the chances of that happening is slim. :sigh:

you know...I think tv series are more open to gay relationships then movies.
look at will and grace. there were at least a couple of seasons of that. and I think there were some other tv shows to I think. oh! law and order: svu touches on it a bit. doesn't focus on gays but they do include gays in hate/sex crimes.
