The first one is my favourite of them all. But then couldn't it just as well be just a beautiful drawing and not anime?
I'm sorry, butI@m not sure I understand this comment.
What defines anime? The pointy too small noses and the slightly too big shiny eyes?
I think you're not being serious here as I@ve just dpend the last post trying to prove otherwise.
Sorry but why not just draw something beautiful - why adapt to a certain style in stead of just going along with ones own style?
Maybe they are. Maybe they like that sytle and they feel it's beautiful. Why not? Why is it not beautiful otherwise?

I don't see what makes the first drawing Anime other than the artist saying soWhat defines anime? The pointy too small noses and the slightly too big shiny eyes?

I disaggree. In my opinion and in my eyes the links show Anime as I see it: cute bigeyed and pointy nosed faces - even the good onesSorry but why not just draw something beautiful - why adapt to a certain style in stead of just going along with ones own style?

What I mean is to me Anime is so similar somehow that it could all just be a computer drawing made by a robot. To me most of it look the same, the expressions are the same, they cry the same way, they look surprised in the same way. And I hate cartoons drawn in Anime style although I know Pokemon and what ever is particular bad Anime

Kas - I know what you mean...
The one thing that changed my mind about anime or moreover mangas was 'Angel Sanctuary' by Kaori Yuki. It's like more grown-up or I-don't-know what makes the difference but I love it! And that to me... who doesn't like animes and mangas at all *laugs*
Kasloumor- 12-05-2006
Okay then well I will keep an open mind and next time I will be at the Library I will try and find some work by Kaori Yuki then. I always look a good cartoon - specially the beautiful ones.

No offence Kas, but that's because you really don't know what you're talking about.
Though I am glad you'll try to be open minded, so I'll let the topic lie.
Kasloumor- 12-05-2006
Offense taken.
Lorlyn- 12-05-2006
alright perhaps we should back off and not discuss the ups and downs of anime for awhile....and not discuss the styles of anime.
alright so moving on....any ideas on mini series...ideas on how they could make that work? (maybe we've pointed that out but I want us off the subject of anime for awhile)
Alira- 12-06-2006
sorry, but what is a mini series? I really don't know.
Lady Vinara- 12-06-2006
It's a series with only a few (lets say 5) episodes which isn't continued endlessly but has the plot covered in them.
j_mercuryuk- 12-06-2006
I think that covered it well. At the moment a normal TV series tends to be about 20 episoide long (usually about 22/23 actually), a mini series is shorter. Throught it's not uncommon for the episode to be a hour long rather then 30 mins. E.g. Elfen Lied has 13 episodes in each 25 minuted long and Gormengast has 4 one hour episodes.
Alira- 12-06-2006
ah, alright. Could have guessed...
j_mercuryuk- 12-06-2006
lol, don't worry. Sometimes things sound like one thing and turn out to be another.
I'll answer Lorlyn question when I get abit more time.
LittleRaven- 12-06-2006
Maybe there could be nine episodes, three for each book?
Lady Vinara- 12-06-2006
that sounds realistic yeah - but i'd rather like 3 major movies
