I think it will have to e 3 films. There is far to much to condense all 3 books in to one film.

I think most of us would love it if they made three separate films; however, we have to ask ourselves if there is a film studio out there willing to take on such a risky venture?
j_mercuryuk- 09-10-2007
I think the they'd have to be bigger (the books i mean, i mean in popularity), less know books have been made into films, but not triolgies.
I think they could easily condense it down for films...we'd just see nothing except the bare plot line and no side plot...no dannyl...no tayend...maybe even no sonea's anut or uncle.

If they cut it down that much i don't think that i would enjoy it. Maybe they could make it into a t.v series. Maybe an hour long episode using three or four chapters per episode.

Someone else is on my wave lenght. But no one else seems to agree.
Lady Nimira- 09-10-2007
Well i'll stay on your wave length. Besides i think a t.v series would be appropriate.
Oriole- 09-11-2007
Nooo, I think TV series would not do the books justice - the budget would probably be to small to hire a reasonably good cast, director, etc. And the special effects would have to be very nuanced yet high quality - something TV shows rarely can achieve.
Lady Nimira- 09-11-2007
I don't agree. If you could get the guy who does the special effects for Heroes i think it would work. It might be a long shot but there you go. You'd need a good director as well. Someone who's a fan.

I think a tv sereies could be done quite well. There are lots of books that have been made in tv sereis that work better that way than films for instance like pride and prejudice. i personally thought that the bbc tv drama was better than the recent film of it. I know there supose making Terry Goodkinds first book, Wizards First Rule, in to a tv sereis in America. Not that we'll get to see staright away being in the UK
Oriole- 09-11-2007
Yes, Heroes does have some nice special effects. But still - do you think there is enough material for a TV show? Wouldn't it become tedious and boring for those who are not fans or indeed familiar with Trudi's work at all? Perhaps it would be better to condense it to one 2,5h feature?
Lady Nimira- 09-11-2007
maybe but maybe not. Do you really think each book could be cut down to 2.5hrs? They'd miss to much out, things that are important i.e. Cery's kidnapping or the blood gems.
Anonymous- 09-11-2007
Books has too many happening for only 2.5 hours. But, there are some uninportant detiles to...
Ora- 09-11-2007
I agree with all that. But, I would still like to see those movies if they make them...
j_mercuryuk- 09-12-2007
It doesn't have to be a long seriea. Alot of the BBC's definative adapations are only up to 6 episodes. Gormenghast was only 4, Pride and Prejudice was only 6.
There are many TV series with great affects.

yay j_merc!!! Someone agrees
