someone should write a review there so people don't base their views on someone who didn't like the plot but know that it was well written and complex or something.

Trin- 02-08-2007

there are about 4 other positive reviews already :)

j_mercuryuk- 02-08-2007

That review is completely over the top. Is it on .com or .co.uk? I'm going to post a counter review.

Trin- 02-08-2007

it is on .de and as I said.. this is only the first review. the next reviews are much more positive

j_mercuryuk- 02-08-2007

Well, I love both of these trilogies but my vote goes to BMT. The storyline in BMT is more interesting and I liked all the characters better, I like Sonea much more than Auraya too. I can see the different style between these trilogies and I can see that Trudi tried something else but BMT was just better. Oh and I like Mirar a lot, he is a very complex character which makes him all the more interesting, can't wait to see what happens in the 3rd book.

I can't choose because I haven't read all of the AoTF. Out of what i've read, BMT wins hands down it was great AND it had Akkarin in it. ^^

j_mercuryuk- 03-08-2007

I simply found BMT a better read, it just drew me in so well.

LittleRaven- 03-08-2007

I love it so. The only AotF book I found myself eager to devour was the last one.

SPOILER I have read both of the trilogies - and BMT wins by far if you ask me. Why? Let me tell you: Trudi is really good at creating characters and in book one of AotF, she creates these entriguing characters (Mirar/Leiard), Ehmerahl and Tryss. I WANT to know EVERYTHING envolving them. But what happens? Tryss is completely left out afterwards and though Mirar is playing a big part in the final book I don't think we get to know enough of his emotions/thoughts in book 3. I want to know him even better as well as Emerahl who is such a cool character. I wish Trudi was more aware of the "key" characters and that she would write more about them in stead of inventing a bunch of not so interesting characters which left me feeling confused. In BMT there were few but all very interesting characters most of whom we got to know on a "personal" level. And what is so wrong with romance? It's like love in the romantic sense has been banned in Trudi's mind after BMT. Sex is all that matters - and though I DID get the ending I wanted / craved / needed in AotF, I still find I wanted more. In BMT I know Akkarin was dead but I was satisfied after finishing the books on all emotional levels. I did't feel satisfied when closing AotF in the same way. NOT that I only want love stories but hey it is there (Auraya/Mirar) so don't sweep it in under a rug. It has been created so use it and take it all the way!! As there are too many new characters whom I don't bother to get to know and consequently don't bother to read the pages thoroughly, to me all in all the books are not nearly as good a read as BMT however better they are written. But Trudi HAS developed as a writer. I like the more mature angles and her style/words "flow/work" better in my opinion than in the BMT. I didn't - by the way - exactly get what it was Chaia did in the end to end it all... But maybe I was just reading too quickly. So what do I like about the AotF? Writing style, humour, a couple of good characters and Auraya finally having a hard time. And I don't consider the books a waste of money either. Not at all - I just prefer BMT.

That's like askin' me which children I prefer!(not that I have any....) Well. I was satified after readin' both trilogy. Really, it's very hard to choose. *Spoiler* I was dissapointed then Mairae did not appear more often in VofG. I mean, she was only mentioned like, 4 times? Although I love the concept of god and stuff. I read both trilogy twice. Nah, I can't choose. Well. Argh! Maybe AotF. Nah. TBM. NAH! Nope. And btw about Chaia... I think it's because bein' a god is not worhty since you desire love but you cannot get it (the physical aspect of it?) and another thing which I forgot.

Sonea- 04-26-2007

I think, plotwise I preferred AotF, but characterwise I preferred BMT. Which I think is probably round about the general concensus.

WinterSnake- 04-27-2007

I think, plotwise I preferred AotF, but characterwise I preferred BMT. Hm. Yeah. I think I gotta to I agree wit yah there.

ebony- 04-27-2007

im making this descion on the basis that i havent read VOTG but i completely preffer BMT overall, there were a few bits in AOTF that i really loved but not overall good enough to beat BMT.
