Basic Skills
Zurina walked into an empty room just off the Guilds entrance hall. It would be where lessons in basic skills would be taught. Looking around she hoped Rothen would join her soon, the room needed some work before the novices turned up. (N.B. THIS IS A LESSON FOR EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF DISCIPLINE :) )

Rothen walked into the room and found Zurina examining the walls and ceiling. "Hi Zurina, am I late?"

"No no, you're fine. This room on the other hand i don't think has been used for a very very long time. It needs tidying before the novices arrive." Zurina set to using magic to get rid of the dust and pull back the drapes and opening the window to let some air in.

Rothen used magic to clear the floor of dust and creepy crawlies. He then set to work on the blackboard, giving it allot of well needed TLC. "So, what do you have in mind for today’s lesson?"

"I don't know Rothen. Its not my field of expertise, i was told i would be assiting you. Why? Have you not got a lesson plan?" Zurina looked at the magician, not meaning to scare him.

"Yes, I do. I was thinking of teaching them things like making globe lights, lighting candles, simple shields, locking things, mental communication, visualization and other basic things." “Where do you think would be a good starting place?”

Balkan walks in eager to start. He bows to Zurina and Rothen. "Um,...Lady Zurina, Lord Rothen..? Am I late, again?"

No, no your just on time.Take a seat and we'll wait for the other novices to come.

Revan and Rothen walked into the room togheter. Revan was glaring a little nervous at the other Magicians...

"Most know mental communication, so perhaps globe lights would be a good place to start and over the weeks maybe visualisation should be tackled." Zurina said after Revan's entrance.

Revan looked at Rothen. They had practised globe lights already!

"Would everyone take a seat please" said Rothen in a stern tone. "Today we shall be learning the basics of both magical theory and practical magic. Its all-very well that we learn about healing, alchemy and warrior skills but basic magical skills are essential if we want to succeed in life. To start we will be doing some breathing exercise to sharpen our minds and help us concentrate. Could everyone please stand up," said Rothen.

Revan rose, hoping no-one noticed he was shivering.

"I would like you to breath in and out on my count" said Rothen. In for one . . . In for two . . . Hold for three . . . and release. "Now try it again whilst clearing your mind of every thought." In for one . . .

Revan tried, though it was difficult as he was so excited! But then he pulled himself togheter, realisung that he didn't want to be marked as a loser already. He let go of all thoughts, only focusing on his breath, keeping it calm. In for one... In for two... Hold for three... and release...
