LD focused and heated the air around her. She began to feel warmer and warmer each second. oh no... warm not hot. warm, warm, warm... She thought frantically. She sighed out of relief as the air cooled slightly, leaving it perfectly warm. LD smiled.

'My children, when you have finished doing that, to your satisfaction, please look up at what I am going to write on the board. I'm going to go through what I want to do in this class with you all. So please, keep transferring some magic, keep heating the air, and then turn to the board.'

Revan had gotten the hang of it- he already knew the basics, and the rest came easily enough. He turned to the table, while keeping the air around him warm unconsciously, using the tiniest flow of magic.

My children? Nim smiled as she felt the air warm around her and turned her attention to the board. She had gotten the hang of heating now and could do it with almost no thought. She was toasty warm.

Shadow kept trying her best to heat the air around her evenly, but still did not succeed. Noting everybody else was already looking at the board, she just gave up and looked up as well. Most probably she would continue having problems with this exercise and most likely with full body shields as well. But she would practise it as much as she could until she would more or less get the hang of it. Having given up on trying, the air around her returned to normal again.

Feeling confident and keeping the air warm around her easily, LD turned to the board.

'Excellent, you're all doing so well. I know I keep saying that, but you are. Now, looking at my lesson plan, which some of you may have seen when Lord Rothen was teaching this class, you are all fine with sourcing your magic. I have seen you do that, and you all have no issues there. If you wish to have more lessons in opening your mind, and accessing your magic, please speak to me privately, or speak to your Guardian. What we will be doing in this class is the shaping and directing of your magic, and being able to use it, as it were, at will. This is the fundamental skill you will acquire here at the Guild, using your magic without thinking about it. To put this knowledge into context, we will be working on shields and globe lights, at least to start. Now, I have been talking far too much, does anyone have any questions?'

Nim shook her head. She had a million questions but didn't want to ask them. She wondered what she would do, she already knew shields and globelights. I hope he doesn't ask for someone to give a demo.

LD shook her head. She didnt have any questions yet. Right globelights and shields... i can do that.

'Alright, that is good. Nimira, please can you come and stand by me, up here at the front,' Akala smiled. Think I can't tell what you're thinking? he communicated quietly with his novice.

Hearing Akala's comment, Revan grinned. He tried not to do it some obvious, though, and gave Nim an encouraging smile.

Nim face faulted and slowly made her way to the front of the class. She glared at Akala, her back to the class so they wouldn't see it. I hate my life She thought with a sigh. She stood next to her Guardian, her eyes darting quickly around the room.

(Sorry, am ill and couldn't get to a computer for the past days. Hope to be more frequent online again soon.) Shadow had just been sitting with an almost blank face, paying attention. Shields and globelight. She had wanted to ask if it was absolutely necessary to learn shields and other such things like warming the air around yourself. As long as it was to focus upon something specifically, Shadow didn't seem to have any problem. Globe Lights for example, she could do with her eyes closed by now, with any color, etc. But if it came to doing something more or less unspecified such as the air around herself, she never was able to succeed completely - in other words failed. Honestly, she didn't mind not being able to pull up a shield or warm the air. It was not as if she was planning on getting into fights and there were always warm clothes to don when winter came.

Akala, trying to remain focused, beamed down at Nimira. Come on, don't be silly, I'm not trying to embarrass you, even though I could, I just know you can do this. 'Now Nimira, just concentrate, and do your best.'

Nim nodded "What would you like me to do first?" Her Guardian had confidence in her which made her more confident herself. She was glad to help and focused her breathng in preperation for her demonstration.
