Lorlyn- 08-10-2007

Lorlyn heard Daniver whisper to LS. She turned to Rothen and spoke. "sounds like we have a novice who isn't to interested in homework"

Lord Rothen- 08-10-2007

'Hmm, looks like we may have to keep an eye on him', said Rothen. 'At least if he doesn't do It we know whatever excuse he comes up with won't be a valid one.' (Is the class to be dismissed?)

Lorlyn- 08-10-2007

"very true. well Rothen. I'm going to take my leave. Their good on globe lights but they don't know how to warm the air but perhaps that is best left for next time. except for lady shadow" Lorlyn turned towards the door and opened in and glanced back at the class with a small smile before closing the door behind her. (yes they are)

Lady Shadow- 08-10-2007

Shadow blinked as she heard Daniver whisper to her. Looking rather dumbfounded, she didn't know why NOT to do it. Nodding, she shrugged before replying to him back in a whisper, getting cut short by the leaving of Lorlyn. As the Administrator had left, she turned around to Daniver again. "Why would I not do the essay? I am supposed to learn, no? Either way, I don't think it's all that hard. You can use the novice library and it is to be only a page of two. If you want, I'll help with looking up things."

Lord Rothen- 08-13-2007

"Class, you are now free to go. Before you all hurry off I would like to remind you that for the next lesson you have a small essay to complete. Anyone failing to finish it on time will be punished. Good day." Rothen turned his back to the class as they rose from their seats.

Lady Shadow- 08-13-2007

Shadow looked at the other novices and rose from her seat. Looking at Daniver, she repeated her last sentence once more, offering her help should he need it. After all, she had always liked books. Afterwards, she walked out of the classroom and into the entrance hall. There, she looked around once more before wandering to the Novice Quarters and to her room. (And Shadow exists to Room 215...)

Akala- 08-13-2007

Akala stood, and turning to Lord Rothen, he bowed. 'The pleasure is all mine my Lord. I greatly enjoyed the mentoring, and it would be an honour to assist you again, should you see it fit. I will take my leave now my Lord.' Bowing again, and smiling, Akala left the room.

Daniver- 08-27-2007

How kind, Daniver mused. But hearing Lord Rothen's and Lady Lorlyn's words, he thought it better to take up LD's offer

Lord Rothen- 08-28-2007

Flicking through papers on the desk, Rothen made a mental note to go through these later. Putting the paperwork aside he rose from his seat and rearranged all of the tables and chairs. The novices had now had more than enough time to complete there essays and Rothen was ready to move onto the next topic;Lesson 4 Uses for magic. Sitting behind his desk he waited for the morning gong to resound throughout the guild.

Lady Shadow- 08-29-2007

(Ow, this is difficult. I have my paper ready (literally) already from the day the asignment was given. But Shadow is still in the same day as when the asignment was given and currently in the Novice Quarters talking with Daniver. Should I let her be in two places at the same time or should I wait till the part in the Novice Quarters is done?)

Lorlyn- 08-30-2007

(it's best to stay in one area but we're all not perfect at doing that. my rule of thumb (for myself) is if I do post in more then one area for role play I try to make my other location lead up to the second location. even if I do it after I've already appeared in the other place.)

Akala- 09-01-2007

Akala came into the room, smiled and nodded to Lord Rothen. 'My Lord, I hope my essay is satisfactory. I have spent some time and effort on it, and I hope it is what you are looking for.' Akala placed his work on the teacher's desk. Although an advanced novice, he still took pride in his basic, explanatory work. 'Shields and Strikes - Two uses of magic.' The essay highlighted how magic can be used in the warrior arena, as an example of everyday, but still important magic. It began by explaining how the two forms are created, going to say how and why they are used, and the extensions to their use outside of the Arena. Akala was proud of his work, and hoped the teacher was as well.

Lady Shadow- 09-03-2007

(Okay, I think I'll just 'be' in two threads at the same time until Daniver comes too...) It hadn't taken Shadow long to finish her essay, only one evening spend in the library. The rest of the time she had spend on reading and practising globe lights and the warming of the air around her. She felt quiet confident that the globe lights were going pretty well. By reading up in books in the library, she had even managed to let a small globe light get another color. Though unsure if it was allowed to practice this, as they had not yet seen it in class, her curiosity had won her over. And after all, it was still globe lights, no? The warming of the air was something else. It worked, as long as she kept her full concentration upon the task and as soon as she let her concentration wander just a bit, it broke in pieces. Seeing in the mornings magicians walk through the garden in deep conversations, without having to think about the heating of the air around them, Shadow was a little jealous. Walking through the hallways, she fidgetted with the scrolls in her hand. She could only hope it was good enough, after all she had not kep to one or two pages and she had brushed on more than two subjects. But the scrolls were just small ones, not having found larger papers in her bag. Knocking on the door, she walked in and looked around. Seeing Rothen, she bowed and walked up to him. "Lord Rothen, here is my essay. I failed to follow the instructions completely and have discussed my own thoughts upon several uses of magic. I hope you don't mind. Otherwise, I'll try to get another essay ready by tomorrow, Lord." Putting the papers down on his desk, she pulled at her robe in a nervous twitch. The three pages rolled nicely into one another, curling up on the desk. Page 1 - Page 2 - Page 3 Quickly looking at the floor, she pulled at her robe again and walked to one of the chairs. Sitting down, she looked at Akala and bowed her head slightly to him, giving a weak smile.

Lord Rothen- 09-03-2007

(Oh my! Lady Shadow, did you do that all from scratch? Thats amazing, possibly the best piece of work ive ever seen!) Rothen took Akala's scroll from him. Reading a few lines he gave a small nod to show he was pleased by the continued hard work and effort from one of his best students. With a few words of praise he turned to Lady Shadow who was now rummaging in her pockets. Pulling out 3 scrolls of parchment she placed them beside Akalas essay. 'Well, what have we here? said Rothen. Picking up one sheet he examined it closely, Noting the careful handwriting and use of extensive vocabulary. 'It looks as if you've certainly put alot of effort into this and I'm sure you'll receive a superb grade for this piece.' Rothen was once again pleased with his novices. They had covered the basics of magic in next to no time and would now be prepared to apply that knowledge to bigger, harder and more demanding tasks. Putting down down LD's essay he gestured that both novices should have a seat.

Daniver- 09-05-2007

Sauntering in, Daniver bowed. "Lord Rothen," he mumbled a greeting before laying a scroll on his desk and settling down in his seat. In the scroll were several messy and succinct paragraphs on the various uses of magic by the separate departments.
