'Now then, one of the more straightforward ways we can manifest our magic is by creating globe lights. These are hard to do to start with, by once you can master the process, are things you can create at will. All that it takes is concentration, and a little patience. Firstly, find your magical store, and take a little out of it, just as you have been doing. Go on, do that now. Gather some magic, and let it dissapate out.'

LD moved closer and listened carefully. Following Akala's instructions she concentrated and focused. After quickly locating her magical store, she let a little escape from her and dissipate. "Done." LD said quietly. "What do i do next?"

Doing as Akala instructed, Dan stomach grumbled again. Muttering an inaudible sorry, he listened for further instructions.

'Good, very good. Now you need to form the magic as it is changing from energy into matter. Watch me.' Akala closed his eyes, still not being able to do this with them open. Inside himself, he drew some of his magic, and converted it into light. The magic came from his store, and it dissapated out, as if with his breath. He willed a small globe light into existence at the moment the magic came out. 'This is very hard to describe, its more of an instinctive thing, but I will try. For me, its like breathing. As you breath in, gather the magic from its store inside you, to your control. Take this magic, and imagine what you want to do with it. You want to make a globe light, so imagine this, and 'inform' your magic. As you breath out, move the magic outwards, manifesting it, as perhaps a ball, a ball of light. Sometimes it helps to hold out your hand, so your magic can sit on it as a ball.' Akala looked at the two novices. He smiled. 'I hope that makes sense.'

(OK, I am gonna be away for a week, so either remote me if you feel confident enough with what you're doing, or wait for me to get back :))

Daniver thought about the instructions given and tried to follow resulting in a tiny globe of light resting upon the palm of his hand. Slightly bored, Dan turned to Lady Darkness and asked," So how are you doing?"

"I'm fine." LD smiled, looking at her own globe light. "And you?" (gonna be gone for the next 4 weeks... i'm flying tomorrow morning... i'll post when i come back... see ya!)

"Alright, I hope this doesn's last too long, I'm starving!" Dan replied (Why is everyone leaving me????!!!!)

Lorlyn stepped into the classroom. She looked around the room noticing Rothen had slipped out. "ah Akala. I see Rothen has let you take over. Danvier, LD how are you doing with Globe lights? have to learned to warm the air yet?" asked Lorlyn as she watched LS slip in behind her and take a sit.

Shadow walked back into the room behind the administrator and quickly took her former seat. Noting that the teacher had left, she was surprised to see Akala, who had guided her around the day before, having taken over. Shifting on her seat to sit as comfortable as possible, she looked around at the others.

"Oh," turning suddenly and slightly startled at Lady Lorlyn's sudden appearence," yes milady, Akala has taught us to make globe lights already." Shifting a little, he saw LS in the background and gave her a smile before redirecting his attention to Lady Lorlyn again.

Lorlyn looked over at Lord Rothen's lesson plan on the board. "I think this will be good for today. You'll have another lesson in a day or two. I want you to write an essay on the uses of magic for Lord Rothen and practice what you've learned. You can do your research in the novice library. Daniver and LD if you want to learn how to heat the air around you, I'll teach you. Otherwise ask Lord Rothen next time" said lorlyn. "oh and if you need help, you may ask the older novices, like Akala here, to help you" (as that's what mentoring is for, though since Akala not here right now, perhaps wait until he's back. :)) Basic skills Welcome to the basic skills class. Shadow looked around, smiling back at Daniver before reading the program of the class once more. Hearing the assignment, her mind started whirling already and she knew she was going to spend probably quiet some time in the library. She already knew three uses of magic, of which she had practised two. And of course there was the magically enhanced architecture, healing, warrior skills and alchemy. I have the feeling I'll be needing a LOT of paper... Looking around at the other novices and then back at Lady Lorlyn, she raised her hand. "Excuse me, Lady Lorlyn. But how long should this paper be exactly? Is there a limitation on the number of pages or words?"

"One to two pages should be fine. No need to go into extreme detail. In fact it might be a good idea to focus on a topic or two rather then 4, 5 or more."

Shadow bowed her head in acknowledgment and looked around the room once more. She thought she knew all she had to and also thought she might have to use all the time she could for this essay and the practice of the globe lights and warming of the air. There was one more question which ran in her mind though, which was how the next days were planned. Were the next two days to be filled with study and working on the essay, or were there going to be classes too? Looking from one to the other, Shadow just sat and waited to know if there would be said any more. (I think my afternoon at work was boring... and my evening at this moment... can't wait till we have to 'deliver' our essays *grins* call me a fool, but I have some nice parchments ready ^-^)
