"Anyone? Akala, Daniver do you know?" Rothen looked at both the students hoping one of them would manage to come up with an answer.

After entering, LD nervously sat down after straightening her robes. She listened to the question being asked, immediately all thoughts left her. Her mind had gone blank. She opened and closed her mouth, and looked down hoping to find an answer there.

"Welcome Lady Darkness, bring a seat over and you can join us for the lesson." Rothen let his attention return to the class, hoping they might have an answer. "So, your telling me that no one here knows what fundamental process a magician must do before he can use his magic?"

"if it helps LD and LS, I do believe I mentioned it in my office a few days ago..." spoke lorlyn hoping to jog their memory.

Shadow turned her head as Lorlyn spoke and hearing the tip, she felt her memories shift. It was vague as well, wanting to escape before she could grasp it. But after a few second, the two memories collided. The Healer of her town speaking after having tested her and the Administrator speaking in her office. And as the two collided, one word glowed up in her mind. Nodding slowly, as if scared the word might actually drop out of her head, she turned and looked back at Lord Rothen. "Excuse me, Lord. But I believe... is it perhaps Control?" At first she had just wanted to say she thought to know it, in order to give the others a chance as well. But afraid as she was that it might slip out of her mind again, she felt she could not risk not saying it immediately lest he asked her to answer and she had forgotten already.

"Yes, that is correct Lady Shadow. All magicians must assert a certain level of control over their magic in order for them to be able to use it." Rothen looked at the novices hoping he wasn't going to fast for them. "However, failing to master this control, a magicians body is overwhelmed and eventually destroyed by its inner self. Loosing control of your magic is certainly not a good thing so we must work hard if we are to fully understand this powerful process of control. At present I would like everyone to pair up. Perhaps Lady Shadow can go with Lorlyn and Lady Darkness with myself?"

"But my Lord, is it possible for one to lose control even after one has gained it?" Daniver asked out of sheer curiousity.

"If one dose not maintain their level of control then I'm afraid that they will be destroyed, along with everything around them. Let me assure you that there are very few magicians who cannot actually grasp control within their first weeks here at the guild." Rothen paused and glanced around the class, hoping he wasn't worrying the novices. Seeing the looks on their faces he decided it was maybe time to move on. "So, before we can master control over our power we must be able to locate it. This will take quite a lot of concentration and everyone may not get it right away. Can everyone pair up now"

'Here Daniver, take my hands.' Akala stood up, and moved over to where Daniver was doing the same. 'Don't worry, this won't be too troublesome. Just relax, and concentrate on what Lord Rothen will tell you.' Akala glanced around, seeing Lorlyn move towards LS.

Lorlyn stood up and moved over towards the two notices, lady shadow and lady darkness to watch over them.

Shadow nodded slowly as Lord Rothen paired her up with the Administrator. She tried to keep her face even, but in truth she was worried indeed. Not just because of what the teacher had said, but this moment had been one of her fears even since the Healer had explained her she had potential. Taking a deep breath, she turned and rose as Administrator Lorlyn approached.

About to take Akala's hands, Daniver realised his hands were sweating from Lord Rothen's words and quickly wiped them on his robes. Taking several deep breaths, he calmed himself and turned to Lord Rothen for further instructions.

"Before we go any further I would like to remind you that we are about to enter each others minds.To those who are new it probably sounds daunting, but everyone must do it if they are to master control. When we enter your mind it is at your invitation, meaning that you will have full control over what you want to reveal to us. Lorlyn and I will teach you how to hide any unwanted thoughts or feelings you may have, leaving you to get on with the control." Rothen looked around, reassuring the novices with a smile. "We are going to do this one at a time so who would like to go first?" ((Hope this is ok so far, what do you guys think?))

(Looks good enough to me :) ) Shadow blinked slowly and felt the blood in her face drain away. Someone else entering her mind. Whatever anybody said, this was one of the things she had been most afraid of ever since being told to come to the Guild. It was not that she had any secrets, not any important or bad secrets any way. It was just the thought alone, having someone else inside your mind. But then again, she knew there was no other way. She had heard the words of Lord Rothen, uncontrolled power could - or rather would - lead to her own destruction. Swallowing thickly, she blinked again and looked around, hoping someone else would volunteer to go first.

Lorlyn turned towards Rothen. "Why don't I take one of the novices to another area? perhaps lady shadow? she looks most nervous and a quiet area might do her good" suggested Lorlyn.
