Auraya and Leiard
Ok this is about Auraya and Leiard/Mirar and when she was asked to kill him. Was she right to refuse the wishes of the Gods she wanted to dedicate her lives to, or did she make the wrong decission? Or, what do you think would have happened had she of killed him?

Alira- 11-11-2006

I think it was the right decision. She was just about to find out everything about her former lover, and I´m sure she still has a lot of questions for him, especially what the gods did to deserve his hate.

I also think that it was the right decision, but a difficult one. Mirar showed her the truth and that he had done nothing bad enough to deserve such a fate. It really was an event which showed the inner strength of Auraya's character and that her sense of justice would not be overshadowed by blind devotion to the gods.

And it showed the cruelty of the gods. I wonder why Auraya stayed in the priesthood, she had proof that the gods weren´t like she had thought them to be.

Shadowed Empress- 11-11-2006

She didnt stay for long though, she resigned pretty much as soon as she came back to Jarime, right? As for why she accepted their punishment and abandoned the Siyee as they instructed, I think she was still probably a little shocked at what she'd done and a little scared too. Once she left Si the prospect of abandoning the siyee to hearteater stiffened her resolve I suppose.

But wasn't it that she wasn't a white anymore, but still within the white religion, and was going off to Siyee to life amongst them and help them? I don't know, its been so long since ive read it i could be wrong....... I think she was right in what she did, no God should ask their followers to kill for them, they have the power to give life, and even to take it away, so why make someone else do it when they themselves can? (ok this could get so religious, please try not to make too many comments on religion in our world, i sort of have, but i dont want to offend or start a riot on religion XD)

Shadowed Empress- 11-11-2006

True, I think she offered to stay a high priestess. I somewhat hope she leaves the Circlian gods altogether though- it'd be cool if she became a Wild and achieved immortality by herself.

Alira- 11-11-2006

I think from reading on trudis site we can be sure that Auraya will become a Wild. Emerahl is going to teach her.

that is gonna be so awesome. i cant wait to read aout it all. i definately think she did the right thing. anyone who hadn't done the same as Auraya would be seriously wrong. i think rian would have obeyed the gods even after mirar showed him the truth. thats the sort of person rian is.

Alira- 11-12-2006

But Rian is a little, well, pathological with his beliefs, anyway. I wonder what he would do if he found out the truth about his beloved gods, that they weren't the characters he had thought.

But Rian is a little, well, pathological with his beliefs, anyway. I wonder what he would do if he found out the truth about his beloved gods, that they weren't the characters he had thought. I think he'd have a breakdown. His whole belief system would be shatters, and he doesn't seem used to basing things on just himself instead of a higher power.

Zurina- 11-12-2006

I thin khe prefers to follow rules rather than make them.

Alira- 11-12-2006

That's not a good attribute for someone in a leading position.

Zurina- 11-12-2006

hmmm, well im his sort of postition it is, as he has someone higher than him to tlel him what to do, he doesn't need to worry about making rules and decissions, he gets stuck, he can ask the Gods for help.

Shadowed Empress- 11-12-2006

I think perhaps in VotG the God's true atrocicies will be unmasked and Rian may just experience that breakdown. I have a feeling Mirae would handle it best :D
