Akala nodded, and hastened onward with Lorlyn. He was happy that he now knew how to help the defenders, if only in a small way. He repeated in his head, 'similar but instead of creating a shield your striking.'

The group reached the Healer's Quarters. "Usually, I'd say a werewolf can't smell a vampire, but since we've just been in and underneath the slums, I bet they will smell all of us the very moment we emerge from down here into your office, Zurina. We'll have to seal the room magically so no smell can reach the filthy werewolves." Alira felt so thirsty. She had to drink blood, and she had to do so soon. Unwillingly, she snorted. If she had drunken more regularly, like twice a week or so, she would have enough strength now, but she had squashed the urge to drink blood for months. Now she got that back. She would have to empty at least 6 more bodies tonight to go through this.

Zurina nodded in agreement about the smell and noticed the slight realing in Aliras eyes, she was hungry. "Will a normal barrier around ourselves prevent them from smelling?" She thought it a stupid question but sometimes the easiest of solutions can be over looked when the mind panics. "Alira, when we get into my office, i have something for you also."

Alira nodded. She longed for blood and somehow hoped Zurina would have some for her, though she knew it was silly. "I hope it will be enough since, usually, wind doesn't go through our shields, too."

Vinara threw up a shield around herself that hovered only a few millimeters above her skin. She turned to Lorlyn and Akala, who looked very pale and adressed Lorlyn: Should I defend our backs and help Akala with his shielding in the beginning or do you need me elsewhere?

"yes help him, and you have the back, but don't use mental commication. they can hear us. give him any tips. but don't let the enermy hear you telling him. don't want them to think him weak and use him as the focus. So Akala worry about shielding yourself more then trying to attack. Vinara, you know how to strike right?" said lorlyn. Lorlyn stopped behind Alira and Zurina, and threw her shield up, ready to climb up the stairs (or ladder) to Zurina's office.

Zurina motioned that Alira should take the lead, she knew she was more likely able to defend any warewolves already there than she was. She was a healer, not a fighter after all. Zurina had created a shield around her and gently healed away her anxiety that had grown the closer they got to her office. Taking a deep breath she felt more sure of herself. She knew where the serum was and what she had to do to get it.

Alira threw up a shield around herself and peered into the dark office with all her senses. "They're close by, but not in here", she whispered towards Zurina, "I hope you won't need much time to get what you need." She slowly emerged from the tunnel into the Head of Healer's office and denoted the others to follow her.

Vinara nodded encouragingly to Akala and stepped into the office at his side, her senses alert and focused on her surroundings. She knew she had enough energy to shield and defend them both, but it would be much more useful if she hadn't to do it. She tried to sum up what she had learned during her lessons to something useful and understandable and remembered something one of her teachers once had told her. She turned and whispered to Akala: If you have to strike, it's best to think of a small ball and focus your magic into it, then throw it against the attacker. That helped me a lot in the beginning. she saw an understanding smile spreas across his face and layed a hand on his arm. They would do this. Toghether. If the small group faught in unison, she was pretty sure they would make it.

Lorlyn stepped into the office after Zurina and listened what was going on out there, hearing faint voices from to people. "It sounds like Jacob and Balkan. Do you think they're trying to bait us and trick us into some plan of theirs?" lorlyn whispered.

"They surely will. We have to be out of here as soon as possible. And until then, we should be as silent as possible." Alira's voice was no more than an icy whisper. She spread out her vampire senses. Filthy werewolves all around the place. Disgusting.

"Zurina, get what we'll need. Everything you need in here? what's the plan after we got the serum and stuff?" whispered lorlyn.

"Depends on what it does and it can be used. Does it heal the werewolves? Does it suppress the symptoms? How is it used?"

Zurina ignored thier questions and crossed the room. Bending down she kneeled by a cupboard. Opening it she brought into view a box. Placing her hand on top of the box Zurina forced her will past the magic boarder it allowing her in. Pushing the joints around inside the box made a quiet click. Looking up at the group she opened box. Taking a tube out she held it out. "The serum." Zurina whispered. Looking back into the box she took out another tube full of blackish red liquid. "For you Alira." She said, handing it to Alira. She replaced the box in the cupboard before she spoke. "When you drink that it will feel as if you have just fed, it will give you the strength you get when you feed but, it will suppress your desire for more. You will be left feeling satisfied as it were." She whispered. "Its good as a temporary thing, it would be diluted and drank in a mix, but it makes no real difference this way, you're just getting a stronger dose." "Now, the serum. Savara helped me make this. It can be injected, as was done for Indria but i dont think thats going to be possible. But it can be drunk." She looked around, any ideas how we can get them to drink it?

Alira stared at the serum. It wouldn't help for long, but it would help her go through this. She looked at Zurina thankfully. "We could... put it into some bol. At least Balkan would not care about what could have been put into it." The vampire took the tube at her mouth and drank everything that was inside. With a disgusted look, she put the tube away. "Next time", she said with a shocked and uneasy look, "try blood flavor, I really don't fancy grass in my mouth."
